PAYNE, Preston James – It is with great sadness and broken hearts we the Head and Payne families announce the passing of their beloved Preston James Payne. (August 19th, 2010 – November 6th, 2019). We only had our angel for nine short incredible years but he left his mark on all who knew and loved him. Left to grieve his passing are his mother Michelle Head (Steve Troke); his father Jon Payne (Jessica Tilley); his three half brothers: Lucas, Grayson and Nathan Payne and his step brother Marcus Troke. He will also be sadly missed by grandparents: Mike and Stephanie Head and Randy and Mary Payne; uncle Stephen (Sheri) cousins Lacey, Charlotte and Chelsea Head and aunt Jennifer (Warren) cousins Landen and Brady Toole. A very large circle of loving aunts, uncles, and cousins on all sides, and also friends and teachers from St. Peter’s Primary. Preston was a vibrant child so full of life and laughter, with very simple wants in his life: A pocket full of rocks to throw in the water, a bag of bread to feed the ducks, a new basketball from Walmart, every time he shopped there, so he could consistently land shots, a new hat with his name on it that his Dad would always have for him or a Wiggles video and a guitar that mom would get, so he could play with them, over and over. His smile was contagious, his kisses were infectious and his love was unwavering. He will be missed terribly by all.

Resting at Barrett’s Funeral Home 73 Commonwealth Ave. Mt. Pearl on Saturday, November 9 and Sunday, November 10 from 2:00 - 4:00 and 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. Funeral mass will be held on Monday, November 11, 2019 at 1:00 p.m. from St. Peter’s Parish, Ashford Drive, Mt. Pearl. Interment to follow at Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Flowers gratefully accepted or donations may be made in Preston’s name to The Autism Society.
