It is with great sadness that the family of the late Abner Earle Clarke announce his passing on Tuesday, November 12, 2019 at the Western Memorial Regional Hospital in Corner Brook at the age of 97 years. He leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories his children: Gary (Bernice) Clarke, Brampton, ON, Pauline (Byron) Reader, Cobourg, ON, Terry (Addie) Clarke, Corner Brook, Bob Clarke, Nelson, BC, Judy Clarke, Toronto, ON, Joanne (Gene) Hurlburt, Mississauga, ON, Rick Clarke, St. John’s and Darlene (Billy) Beales, Ottawa, ON; grandchildren: Wayne, Jeff, Craig, Todd, Michelle, Kimberly, Dion, Kerista, Matthew, Jessica, Justin and Shane, many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; sister Hazel Chafe (Tom), Corner Brook; brother Frank (Rona) Clarke, Pasadena;  sisters-in-law: Jean Sparkes, Corner Brook and Geraldine Spare, Fitchburg, MA; brother-in-law Frank (Audrey) Pike, Corner Brook; as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his wife Mildred Leah Clarke on July 3, 2018. A special thank you to the medical staff at Western Memorial Regional Hospital, and friends and neighbors for all their special help and kindness. Friends may visit Fillatre’s Funeral Home, 4 St. Mark’s Avenue on Monday from the hours of 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, November 19 at 2:00 p.m. from the Salvation Army Citadel, Clarence Street with Captains Darren & Danette Woods officiating. Interment to follow at Mount Patricia Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy flowers graciously accepted or donations may be made to the Salvation Army Citadel.
