It is with great sadness that the family of the late Ralph Pennell announce his passing on Saturday, November 23, 2019 at the Western Memorial Regional Hospital, Corner Brook at the age of 91 years. He leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories his wife of 70 years Elizabeth (Dossie); daughters; Georgina (Wallace), Hazel (George) and Patsy; son Rodney (Linda); grandchildren: Robbie (Angie), Susan (Mike), Philip, Pierre (Anne), Edwin (Shalene), Patrick, Russell, Vicki (Gerard), Allison (Dave), Coady (Stephanie) and Joshua (Katie); 16 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren; brother Freeman (Beatrice); brother-in-law Paul Shepard (Pauline); sister-in-law Geraldine Sheppard; as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his infant son Wayne, son-in-law Frank Wheeler, granddaughter Trina Wheeler, parents George and Anne Pennell, parents-in-law Stephen and Georgina Sheppard, brothers Wilfred (Olive), Roland (Rebecca), Jack (Ruby) and Foster (Barbara), sisters Dorothy (Reginald) and Hazel; sisters-in-law Sylvia (Raymond) and Marie (Maxwell), brother-in-law Ronald. A sincere thank you to special caregiver Gloria Childs, staff at ALC 5th Floor, Western Memorial Regional Hospital, Dr. Philip Morris and Dr. Hannah. Friends may visit St. James Anglican Church in Lark Harbour on Tuesday from the hours of 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. from where the funeral service will be held on Wednesday, November 27 at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Effie Organ officiating. Interment to follow at St. James Anglican Cemetery. As expression of sympathy flowers graciously accepted or donations may be made to St. James Anglican Church Memorial Fund.
