It is with great sadness that the family of the late Ambrose Payne announce his passing at Western Memorial Hospital in Corner Brook on Friday, February 13th, 2009 at the age of 73 years. Leaving to mourn are his wife Cassie; daughters: Liga (Eddie) Gould, Renna (Bradley) Atkins of Port au Choix, and Melina of Prince Edward Island; sons: Leonard (Sonya) of Port Saunders, and Rick Biggin (Alma) of Daniels Harbour; grandchildren: Edmund, Christopher, Jodi, Kimberly, Khloe, Tyra, Brandi, Melissa, and Rochelle; great-grandchildren: Madison and Jessica; sister Loretta; brother-in-law Walter House; sisters-in-law: Betty Payne, Viola Payne, and Eileen Payne, and a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his parents Leonard and Flora Payne; sisters: Audrey and Elizabeth; brothers: Guy, Gerald, Jesse, William, Ralph and Ivan. The family received friends at St. John the Divine Church on Sunday and Monday, from where the Funeral Service took place on Tuesday, February 17th at 2:00 p.m. with Reverend Tanya White officiating. Interment followed at the Interfaith Cemetery in Sandy Cove. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Fillatre's Funeral Home in Port au Choix.
