Arthur Lewis Newman St. George’s, NL Mar. 19, 1948 – Dec. 18, 2019 It is with great sadness that the family of the Late Arthur Newman announce his sudden passing at the age of 71 years. Art was born to Doris and Samuel Newman on March 19, 1948 in Joe Batts Arm. He was a vibrant, feisty, animal loving man, although he was born in Newfoundland, he spent many years in Ontario. Art leaves to mourn his, 92 year old mother Doris Newman; his daughter Samantha (Perry); sons: Leslie, Patrick; grandsons: Jacob, Aiden, Seamus; granddaughter Madison as well as multiple nieces, nephews, other family and friends. Art was predeceased by his father Samuel Newman; brothers: Heber Newman, William (Bill) Newman, Wallace (Wall) Newman; sisters Florence Greenhaus and Maureen Warren. A memorial service is to take place on Tuesday, January 7, 2020 from Zion Pentecostal Church, Carolina Ave., Stephenville, NL at 3 p.m. with Pastor Darren Sacrey officiating. Inurnment in the Hillside Interfaith Cemetery, Hansen Highway, Stephenville, NL will take place at a later date. As expressions of sympathy, in lieu of flowers the family would like for donations to be made to the Southwest Coast SPCA. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Fillatre’s Funeral Home, Stephenville Crossing, NL.
