Dad was a product of an age when no job title adequately fit. You had to be a little of everything. He was fisherman, hunter, woodsman, carpenter, and berry picker. But deep in his soul, he was a singer and a storyteller. Until the last year, he could sing every word of some of the favorite folk ballads that he learned from his father and others up and down the coast. Perhaps his most requested was “Two Little Girls in Blue.” And until very recently, he added his singing voice to the regular Sunday worship service at the Health Centre.
We owe special thanks to the staff at the Labrador South Health Centre, whose kindness and compassion over the past three years have been a great source of strength to dad and the family. Thank you also to the many people who visited during this time, with special thanks to mom’s sister Alice and dad’s sister, Myrtle.
