It is with great sadness that the family of the late Bryant Edward “Elton” Brown announce his passing on Sunday, January 12, 2020 at the Western Memorial Regional Hospital in Corner Brook at the age of 90 years. He leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories his spouse of 22 years Anita Stewart; daughter Mary Munro (John); grandchildren: Michael Girard (Lisa), Connie Girard, Tracy Girard (Diane), Johnny Munro and Crystal Munro; step-children: David Stewart (Laura), Elaine Strickland (Reginald), Barbara Hickey (Danny), Edith Miller (Keith), Patricia Brockway, William Stewart (Diane) and Angela Butt (Peter); step-grandchildren: Jodine Sheppard (Stephen), Natasha Stewart (Mark), Ryan Stewart (Kayla), Colin Strickland (Jennifer), Christina Park (Larry), Melissa Mallard (Glenn), Stephen Hickey (Jaclyn), Matthew Brockway, Courtney Brockway (Michael), April Butt, Emily Butt, Brooke Dunlap (Tylor), David Miller and Jeremy Miller; brothers: David Brown (Betty) and Melvin Brown (Maria); sisters: Elsie Masters, Gladys Smith (Bob) and Carrie Bellanger; sister-in-law Flora Askins; brother-in-law Frank Helary; as well as a large circle of great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his parents Dora and George brown, first wife Edith Brown, brother Clarence Brown, sister Dorothy Howell (Doug), sister-in-law Lucy Pike (Andrew), brother-in-law Joseph Kennedy (Bernice) and step-son-in-law Barry Brockway. Friends may visit Fillatre’s Funeral Home, 4 St. Mark’s Avenue on Tuesday and Wednesday from the hours of 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. The funeral service will be held on Thursday, January 16 at 2:00 p.m. from the Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist, Main Street with Archdeacon David Taylor officiating. Interment to follow at Mount Patricia Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, in lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist Memorial Fund.
