Mercedes Margaret Compagnon October 22, 1927 – January 21, 2020 Benoits Cove, NL It is with great sadness that the family of the late Mercedes Compagnon (nee Duffy) announce her passing on Tuesday, January 21, 2020 at Corner Brook Long Term Care at the age of 92 years. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories are her six children: Frank (Bridget), Cecil, Sharon Compagnon, Debbie (Abe) Ruth, Darren (Mary) and Audrey (Brian) Ruth; grandchildren: Connie (Bill), Natasha, Sheldon, Maurice (Gale), Tanya (John), Kaitlyn, Chadwick, Dwayne (Sheena), Leah, Joshua, Devin and Meghan; great grandchildren: Kennedi, Katherine, Amelia, Nikita, Zachery, Arielle, Nash and Alexis; brothers: Donald (Loretta) Duffy, John (Jeanetta) Duffy and Vincent Duffy; sisters-in-law: Eileen, Ramona and Muriel; as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She is predeceased by her husband Anthony (2013), son Leslie, (1987), parents John and Maude Duffy, brothers Albert, Frank, Laris and Peter, sisters Alice and Doris. Friends may visit Fillatre’s Funeral Home, 218 Curling Street on Thursday evening, 7-9:00 p.m. and Friday 2-4 and 7-9:00 p.m. The Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, January 25th at 10:30 AM from Our Lady Star of the Sea Church in Benoits Cove with Fr. Jim Robertson officiating. Cremation to follow with burial at a later date. As expressions of sympathy, in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Our Lady Star of the Sea Parish.
