Nina nurtured, took care of, and welcomed everyone to her home. She steadily opened her arms and doors to raising children of families in the Corner Brook community through her in-home childcare. Nina had countless passions, including volunteering with the United Church Women's group, attending TOPS and taking road trips with her chapter, going to Newfoundland Light and Power employee functions, enjoying cabin life at Partridgeberry Point and coordinating the annual Labour Day Parade bash. She loved hosting celebrations for every occasion, extravagantly decorating her house and dressing up every Halloween to treat the neighbourhood children, beach combing, entertaining crowds with elaborate jokes, skits, and stories, feeding everyone that came through her house, and providing the warmest hospitality. Even though Nina was small in stature, she was a firecracker who left a positive, everlasting impact and will be sorely missed.
Nina's family would like to extend thanks and express deep gratitude to the phenomenal nurses, doctors, and staff of the Alternate Level Care (Unit 3D) and Palliative Care Unit for making her feel at home and easing her end of life journey. In lieu of flowers, donations are graciously accepted to the Newfoundland and Labrador Brain Injury Association, and the Alzheimer's Society of Newfoundland and Labrador.
