Mary Madonna Mitchell (nee Callahan) August 18, 1950 – January 30, 2020 Corner Brook, NL On Thursday, January 30, 2020 at 7:20 am NL time, our Mother, amazing sister and friend to all, Mary Madonna Mitchell age 69, passed away gracefully without pain, and family by her side, at the Palliative Care Unit, Western Memorial Regional Hospital, after battling an aggressive brain tumor. She leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories her four children: Robert (Sherry), Ottawa, ON, Thomas (Sherry), Corner Brook, Kimberley, Brantford, ON and Scott (Christina), Corner Brook; loving grandchildren: Brandyn MacDonald, Zach Hutchings, William and Ana White, Nathan and Noah Mitchell, TJ and Erika Irving, Allyshia and Reiley Stoffelsen, Nick, Alicia and Sabrina Burke; great grandchildren: Bella and Landon; best friend and father of her children, John Mitchell; brothers: Gerve, Jeff (Ina), Jack (Patsy), Howard and Joe (Lorraine) Callahan; sister Pam Dwyer and brother-in-law Ron Rafferty; as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Predeceased by her parents John and Agnes Callahan. We would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at the Palliative Care unit, who took such loving and gentle care of our Mom, and to everyone for your kind words and support at such a difficult time. Friends may visit Fillatre’s Funeral Home, 4 St. Marks Avenue on Friday from 2-4 and 7-9:00 P.M. The funeral service will be held on Saturday, February 1st at 10:30 AM from Fillatre’s Funeral Chapel with Fr. Jim Robertson officiating. Cremation to follow. As expressions of sympathy, in lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Palliative Care Unit at Western Memorial Hospital or to the Salvation Army, Corner Brook.
