It is with great sadness that the family of the late Melvin George Tipple announce his passing on Wednesday, February 19, 2020 at the Western Memorial Regional Hospital in Corner Brook at the age of 84 years. He leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories his wife Jean Elliott-Tipple; children: Tony (Debbie) Tipple and Linda (Paul) Maguire; step-daughters: Janice Elliott and Nancy (Gary) Pitcock; grandchildren: James, Kimberley, Janet, Hunter and Brooke; 3 sisters: Ruby, Shirley and Betty; best friends Baxter and Lorraine Noel; as well as nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his first wife Isabel (nee Oake), parents Raymond and Alice Tipple, brother Walter, sisters Joan and Jean. A special thank you to doctors, nurses and staff of the 4th floor and the palliative care unit. A private family visitation and funeral service will be held with interment at Mount Patricia Receiving Chapel. As expressions of sympathy, donations may be made to Humber United Church Memorial Fund.
