It is with great sadness that the family of the late Viola Martin-Bird announce her passing on February 19, 2020 at the Labrador Grenfell Health Long Term Care Facility, Happy Valley Goose Bay, NL at the age of 92 years. She will be sadly missed by her children: Jessie (Barry), James; grandchildren: Alicia, Stephen (Angel); great-granddaughters: Adeline and Kylah; sister-in-law Ethel Martin as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her parents James and Mary Louisa Martin; husband Brian Bird; brother: Kenneth Martin and well loved nephew David James Martin. Visitation will take place at Fillatre's Funeral Home on Friday, February 28, 2020 from 7-9 PM. Funeral service will be held on Saturday, February 29, 2020 at St Andrew's Anglican 2PM with Rev Nellie Thomas officiating. As expressions of sympathy, donations may be made to the following charities: Long Term Care, Happy Valley Goose Bay or Harbourview Manor, Mary’s Harbour. Special thanks to all who have been involved in mom’s care. No flowers please.
