Sarah Rita O’Keefe (nee Bourgeois) Benoit’s Cove, NL 1929 – 2020 It is with great sadness that the family of the late Sarah O’Keefe announce her peaceful passing, surrounded by her loving family on Friday, February 21st, 2020 at the Palliative Care Unit at Western Memorial Hospital at the age of 90 years. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories are her children: daughters Anne Marie (John), Jocelyn (Bill), Janet (Rob) and Patricia (Byron); sons, Bernard (Charmaine) and Donnie (Jackie); grandchildren: Donna, Lori Anne, Cindy, Keith, Elizabeth, Patsy, Leslie, Shonda, Michelle, Nicole, Marie, Mike, Trina, Terri, Sarah, Patrick, April, Kirk and Adrian; Great grandchildren: Cody, Karla, Ashley, Georgia, Kameron, Danielle, Christopher, Tyler, Blake, Leonard, Megan, Alexander, Isaac, Matthew, Alyssa, Sam, MacKenzie, Rebecca, Michael, John, Jessica, Kianah, Akalias, Ethan, William, Logan, Ellie, Noah, Logan and Morgan; Great great grandchildren: Alex Hazel and Beau; three brothers: Bernard (Irene), Joseph and Kevin Bourgeois; as well as a very large circle of nieces, nephews, extended families , cousins and friends. Predeceased by her husband Leonard Sr. (1999), sons Baby Leonard, Leonard Jr, William (Billy), Patrick and Brian (Dusty), granddaughter Kimberly; great grandsons Alex and Christopher; parents William and Theresa Bourgeois and brothers and sisters. A special thank you to the nurses and staff of the 4th floor and to the Doctors and Nursing team on the palliative care unit. Granting her wishes, cremation has taken place. Family and friends may visit Fillatre’s Funeral Home, 218 Curling Street on Sunday, February 23rd from the hours of 2-4 and 7-9:00 p.m. The funeral service will be held on Monday, February 24th at 10:30 AM from Our Lady Star of the Sea Parish, Benoits Cove with Fr. Jim Robertson officiating. Inurnment to follow at the old Roman Catholic cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, in lieu of flowers donations may be made Our Lady Star of the Sea Parish, Benoits Cove.
