Obituary of Barry Patey

Passed away peacefully at home in River of Ponds, with family by his side; Barry went to his final resting place on February 27, 2020 at the age of 60 years. He leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories: love of his life and best friend Darlene; his pride and joy, daughters: Jessica (Daryl) Wolfe of Lantz, NS, Dawn-Marie (Trevor) DesRoches of Frederickton, NB and Jada (Darren) Harvieux of Corner Brook, NL; daughter-in-law Lynette; parents Austin & Edith Patey; siblings: Eric (Ida), Leah (Fred), Denise and Randy; grandchildren: Kodee, Sarah, Cole, Landon, Kyle, Jace, Maddox and Isabella; many nieces and nephews whom he loved dearly as well as a large circle of extended family and great friends, including special friend Marlene Payne.
He was predeceased by son Jamie, grandparents Henry and Suzanna Patey, Clayton and Kathleen Keough; parents-in-law Bernard and Amy Chapella; and special sister Tanna.
Visitation will be held at St. Peter's Anglican Church, River of Ponds on Friday 2:00-4:00 Pm with a family service at 7:00 Pm & visitation until 9:00 PM. The funeral service will take place at Trinity Pentecostal Church, River of Ponds on Saturday at 4:30 Pm followed by interment at the Steady Cemetery, River of Ponds. Officiating clergy, The Reverend Deacon Marie Smith & The Reverend Deacon Ida Patey.
Flowers will be graciously accepted or donations In Memoriam may be made to a charity of one's choice. Family and friends may sign the guest book and leave messages of condolence on this website. Arrangements were entrusted to Fillatre Funeral Homes Ltd. Port au Choix.
The family would like to say a special thank you to the entire medical team who cared for Barry over the years, including the many staff who became friends from the Chemo unit at Western Memorial Hospital; Tracy House,RNNP of Rufus Guinchard Health Centre and Lynette House,RN who went above and beyond to make him comfortable in his final days.
