Robert (Rob) Peter Garnier was born on March 8th, 1954. On his 66th birthday he passed away at Western Memorial Hospital surrounded by his family. He will be greatly missed by his beloved wife, Glenda, his son, Julian (Lisa) and his grandson, Robbie (Ashley). He is survived by his siblings; Kevin (Sue), Barbara (Maurice) Murphy, Elizabeth (Larry) Hicks, Brian (Coreen), Wally (Sheila), David (Geraldine), Mary (Chris) Duff. Uncle Rob was loved by his many nieces and nephews for his unique ability to connect with them and laugh and play. He will be especially missed by his ‘ole’ buddy.
Rob was born in Deer Lake, built his house in Reidville and lived there for 40 years. He started several businesses in his lifetime including the first raspberry farm in the province, a golf simulator and a fitness gym. He is well known for his special talent in physical training. His friends and colleagues respected, admired and loved him.
He was predeceased by his parents Kevin and Teresa, his brother Gerard and his parents-in-law Minnie and Roy Pennell.
Family and friends may visit Fillatre’s Funeral Home in Deer Lake on Wednesday, March 11th from 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm. A service will take place on Thursday, March 12th at 2 pm at Fillatre’s Funeral Home, 10 Clinic Drive. Deer Lake. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or the SPCA.
