Florence Gillam St. David’s, NL Feb. 1, 1930 – Mar. 13, 2020 It is with great sadness that the family of the Late Florence Gillam announce her passing on Friday, March 13, 2020 at the Sir Thomas Roddick Hospital, Stephenville, NL at the age of 90 years. Florence was born on Pass Island, Hermitage Bay on Feb. 1, 1930 to John & Elsie Bobbett. Her life passion was her family, her home and many friends. She enjoyed family gatherings and a good game of cards whenever the opportunity arose. She met the love of her life, Noah, on a blind date in Halifax, NS and they married on Dec. 8, 1951. They moved to St. David’s in Feb. 1958 where they lived and raised their four children. She was affectionately known as Nan, Grammy and Little Nan. Leaving to mourn her children: Sharon (Roy) Piccott, Kenny (Marilyn) Gillam, Sandra (Mike) Hynes, Lisa Gillam (John); grandchildren: Todd (Judy), Greg (Lori), Denise, Michael, William, Natasha (Mike), Matthew, Alex; step-granddaughter Samantha; great-grandchildren: James (Lacie), Jordan, Mackenzie, Brady, Brendan, Jesse, Charles, Ella, Ryan, Madison, Brooke, Camryn; step-grandchild Jasper; great-great-granchildren: Emerson, Harper, Harley; sister Winnie Guy and many nieces, nephews other family and close friends. She was pre-deceased by her husband Noah; infant son; parents John & Elsie Bobbett; sister Marjorie Simms and brother William Bobbett. Cremation has taken place at Humber Valley Crematorium, Pasadena, NL. Funeral service and inurnment will take place in July 2020. As expressions of sympathy donations may be made to St. Michael & All Angels Church. The family would like to thank Dr. Habashi and staff of Sir Thomas Roddick Hospital for their wonderful care of mom during her time there.
