It is with sad and heavy hearts that the family of Ambrose Mahar of Bird Cove, NL announces his passing at the Rufus Guinchard Health Centre Port Saunders, on Tuesday, April 14, 2020 at the age of 93 years. He leaves to mourn sons: Chris, Kevin (Remona), Leo (Darlene), & Tom; daughters: Angela & Jackie (Austin); sister Mary Alice Burke; grandchildren: Desmond, Dermot, Gorvin, Jeffery, Steven, Melissa, Lesley, Andrea, Deney, Adelia, Allison & Anita; great grandchildren: Hannah, Mason, Julian, Isabelle, Leah, Noah, Lilah, Zaida, Kloe, Riely, Jacklyn & Kade; many nieces, nephews and friends. He is predeceased by wife Mary Kennedy Mahar; daughter Mary Elizabeth; son Ambrose Jr; Parents Ambrose & Mary Mahar; brothers: Luke, Christopher, & Joseph; sister Agnes; son-in-law Christopher Mahar; brothers-in-law: Jerome Boudoin, Patrick Burke and sister-in-law Leona Mahar. Interment will take place at Our Lady of Grace Cemetery, Bird Cove, NL on Thursday, April 16, 2020 at 3:00 PM with Father Rossi officiating. Due to the Covid-19 a private family viewing will take place at Fillatres Funeral Home in Port au Choix. Family and friends may leave messages of condolence, write a tribute and make memorial donations to the Diabetes Association or the Canadian Cancer Society on this website. Arrangements were entrusted to Fillatre Funeral Homes Ltd Port au Choix.
