Martha Rosetta (Rose) Pardy (nee Bird)
October 24, 1937 – May 25, 2020
It is with great sadness that the family of Rose Pardy of Happy Valley-Goose Bay, NL announce her
passing on May 25, 2020 at the Labrador Health Centre in Happy Valley-Goose Bay at the age of 82
years.
Rose was born in Paradise River, baptized in Dove Brook, but lived the majority of her life in Happy
Valley-Goose Bay.
She will be sadly missed by her husband of 62 years, Bernard, her daughters Peggy Skinner and
Lisa Michelle, her sisters Eliza Emery (Stephen), Willa Parrott (Neil), and Margaret Bird-Klasing, her
brothers Glenn (Bernadette), Patrick, and Herman.
Rose was predeceased by her parents Thomas and Flora Bird, her sister Linda Abbott (Fred), and
her brothers Edgar, Gerald and Steven (Amy)
She was also predeceased by her niece Denise Walsh (Dwayne), with whom she had a very special
bond.
She also leaves behind a wide variety of friends and relatives whom she cherished over the years. In
particular, her lifelong friendships with Vera Butt and Shirley Hefler were very special to her.
Nothing was more important to Rose than her children and everyone close to Rose will always
remember the love she had for her special girl, Lisa Michelle, who was the light of her life.
Rose was always quite active over a number of years and she loved nothing more than to have fun
with family and friends, all of whom she loved dearly.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Fillatre’s Funeral Homes and due to the restrictions in place at
this time, a celebration of Rose’s life will be held at a later date. She will be forever remembered,
forever missed and loved for eternity.
Special thanks to Dr. Martin Fogl and the nursing staff at the Labrador Health Centre for taking such
good care of our precious Rose.
As expressions of sympathy, flowers will be gratefully accepted.
