February 28, 1941 -June 5, 2020
It is with heartfelt sadness the family of Walter Hackett announce his passing on Friday, June 5, 2020 at Corner Brook Long Term Care in his 79th year. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife Eva Hackett (nee: Cammie), daughter Karen Stevens & husband Malcolm. Son Lamont Hackett & wife June, grandchildren: Ria, Caymus, Finton, Carrick, Presley and Riley; siblings: Reg & wife Violet, Tom & wife Martha, Gerard & wife Mary, Brendon & wife Holly, Peter & wife Nancy, Velita & husband Mick McCarthy, Ann-Marie Hackett, Donna & husband Darren Donahue, brother-in-law Patrick Leonard, special nephew Shawn Hackett, sisters-in-law Philomena Hackett, Millie Hackett, as well as numerous nieces, nephews other relatives and many friends. Walter was predeceased by his parents Michael & Bridget Hackett, brothers: Edward, Allan, Carl, Ignatius and sister Rhona; sister-in-law Helen Hackett; mother & father-in law William & Margaret Cammie, brother-in-law John Cammie; sisters-in-law Marjorie Russell (Ron), Genova Bennett (Kevin) & Ann Leonard. Due to Covid-19 restrictions a private funeral service will be held at Fillatre’s Funeral Home 4 St. Marks Avenue with Father Jim Robertson officiating. As expressions of sympathy memorial donations may be made to Our Lady Star of the Sea Parish or Canadian Mental Health Association www.cmha.ca .
