Verna Matilda Louise Sandor (nee Layden) Corner Brook, NL October 15, 1952 – June 22, 2020 It is with great sadness that the family of the late Verna Sandor announce her passing on Monday, June 22, 2020 at Western Long Term Care, Palliative Care Unit at the age of 67 years. She leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories her children: Tammy (Hughie) Howell, Jason (Robyn) Sandor and Jeremy (Krista) Sandor; grandchildren: Aaron, Alisha, Kameron, Rebecca, Erica, Tyler, Landon, Joshua and Cole; brothers and sisters: Frank (Brenda) Layden, Fred (Wanda) Layden, Hayward (Donna) Layden, Karl (Correina) Layden, Darrell Layden, Gary (Paulette) Layden and Darlene (Ray) Vatcher; little fury buddy Milo; as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her husband Charles Sandor, parents Cecil and Catherine Layden. A very special thank you to the Doctors, nurses and staff at the Palliative Care Unit for their exceptional care. Cremation has taken place. A private family visitation will be held at Fillatre's Funeral Home, 4 St. Mark's Avenue. A private family funeral will take place on Sunday, November 8 from Humber United Church with Rev. Jocelyn Cook officiating. Interment to follow at Mount Patricia Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy donations may be made to the ALS Society.
