August 22, 1932 – June 17, 2020
It is with sadden hearts that the family of the late Eugene Hutchings announce his passing on Wednesday, June 17, 2020 at the age of 87 years, at Western Memorial Regional Hospital in Corner Brook.
Eugene loved his family, had a heart full of music and loved to play the violin.
He will be forever loved and greatly missed by his partner Annie Reid; sons Terry, Harold (Suzanne) and Frank (Lauriane); daughter in law Phyllis; granddaughters: Courtney, Nicole, Daniela, Mackenzie and Stephanie; grandsons: Byron, Boyd and Zachary; 9 great grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren; brothers: Rufus and Percy (Mariette); Brother in law: Harry Bennett (Karen): Sisters in law: Pauline Payne and Thelma Hutchings and all his many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends that loved him dearly.
He was predeceased by his wife Rita (nee Bennett) Hutchings, son Baxter, his mother and father Winnie and Charles Hutchings, mother and father in law, Eva and John Bennett, siblings Frank, Ralph (Irene) and Rellie (Randell), sisters in law Beverly Bennett and Effie Hutchings, brother in law Sandy Payne and Fraser McDonald. The Hutchings family would like to extend their upmost appreciation to all the loving staff at the Deer Lake Manor and Western Memorial Hospital that not only provided him with the best care but who spent time comforting him. Special thank you to friends Glenda and Pat Bavis and nephew Malcolm and Alva who helped Eugene and the Hutchings family throughout the years.
A private family service at St. Mary’s Anglican Church, Cow Head on Sunday, July 5 at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Terry Rose officiating. Interment to follow at St. Mary’s Anglican Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy flowers graciously accepted or donations to a charity of one’s choice.
