Roland Coombs October 9, 1942 – July 15, 2020 It is with great sadness that the family of the late Roland Coombs announce his passing on Wednesday, July 15, 2020 at Western Long Term Care Palliative Care Unit at the age of 77 years after a long courageous battle with cancer. He leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories his wife of 53 years Myrtle (nee Gibbons); daughter Germaine; son Boyd (Dawn); grandsons: Kaden and Ryland; brother Albert (Olga); sisters: Barbara, Marie, Dorcas (Stewart), Bertha (David), Mona and Lucy (Hubert); sisters and brothers-in-law: Caroline, Chesley, Georgina, Marion, Rachel, Lawrence, Gladys and Minnie; as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his parents Roland and Florence Coombs, son-in-law John Moran, brothers George Henry, Nelson, Asaph and Angus, sister Effie, parents-in-law Edna and George Gibbons, brothers and sisters-in-law Rex, Lambert, Henry, Viola, Isaac, Nellie, Jacob, Winston and Stanley. A private family viewing will be held at Fillatre’s Funeral Home, 10 Clinic Drive, Deer Lake with cremation to follow and interment at a later date. As expressions of sympathy donations may be made to Western Memorial Regional Hospital Foundation, Palliative Care Unit, 1 Brookfield Avenue, Corner Brook, NL A2H 6J7. www.westernhealth.nl.ca.
