Russell Chubbs
July 8th, 1943 - August 3rd, 2020
It is with broken hearts that the family of Russell Chubbs, 77, announce his sudden passing at Labrador South Health Centre on Monday, August 3rd, 2020. Russell will be remembered by many for his overwhelming kindness, care free spirit, good natured humour and uplifting smile. Russell was known for his hard work ethic and skilled snow clearing through the harshest of Labrador winters. He worked as a heavy equipment operator since the age of eighteen and retired with the Department of Highways in February 2020.
Left to mourn with an abundance of beautiful memories is his special daughter Sandra (Edward); Sons Lloyd (Josee) & Lyndon; Sister Mabel (Eldridge); Special sister-in-law and co-worker Pat Jones; Daughter-in-law Betty; Grandchildren Jamiee (Marcus), Mark (Felicia), Michael (Tamara), David, Jeremy, Eugenie, Robyn, Troy, Case & Sydney; Great grandchild Kim; Special niece Jessica & nephew-in-law Ronnie; great nephew Ryder and great niece Claire; Special camper buddies Kenneth & Alice Dumaresque, Roland and Myrtle Gould & Will Hickey; Fur buddies Rocko & Jack; and a large circle of nieces, nephews and life-long friends. During his stay at Curtis Memorial Hospital this past winter, Russell gained a great buddy Wilf Genge (and family) who treated him as if they knew him all his life. Russell spoke fondly of everyone and anyone who touched his life is any way possible.
Predeceased by his loving wife Helen; Parents Alpheaus and Mary; Son Kim; Daughter Jennifer; Brothers Dave, Bill, Les, Amos, Cecil and Alpheaus; Sisters Rita and Mathilda.
The family wishes to thank the fabulous nursing staff of Curtis Memorial Hospital in St. Anthony, 3A Medicine at Western Memorial Regional Hospital in Corner Brook and Labrador South Health Centre in Forteau. Your compassionate and comforting care will forever be remembered and appreciated.
If you wish to show support, you may donate in memory of Russell to the Anglican Parish of Forteau.
