It is with great sadness that the family of the late Charlie Pone, announce his passing at the Labrador Health Center, Happy Valley Goose Bay, at the age of 61 years on August 21, 2020 Charlie will be deeply missed by all who had been blessed to know him. He will be especially missed by his brothers Tommy Pone, Pien Pone, Etien Pone and Ponas Pone; Sisters Julianna Pone and Nancy Pone, as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was pre-deceased by his parents Mattius and Ketona Pone; Brothers Simon Pone and Matthew Pone; Sister Monica Pone. Charlie was an avid lover of the outdoors and the great land of Labrador. Although he did not have any children of his own, there were many that he had helped raise. “Raising a child, whether yours or not, is being anointed by God to be the guardian of his Kingdom in the form of a child.” – Unarine Ramaru A funeral service will be held at Our Lady of the Snows Catholic Church, Sheshatshiu, Labrador, on Monday August 24th, 2020. Due to COVID-19 regulations, those in attendance of the funeral must wear a non-medical mask or face covering upon entering the church. As expressions of sympathy, flowers are graciously accepted.
