Shirley Marie Murphy (Young) Age 76 October 6, 1943 – August 23, 2020 It is with great sadness that the family Shirley Murphy (Young) announce her passing at Corner Brook Long Term Care as a result of Alzheimer’s Disease. She will be forever missed by her daughter Kelly Day (Peter), Waverley NS. Her son Robert (Bob) Murphy (Angie), Moncton NB. Her adored grandchildren, Joshua Day (Leslie Stewart), Mitchell Day, Rachel Murphy, Emily Murphy. They were the lights of her life. Her siblings Betty Cressey, Delaware, Marilyn Boyle (Lester), Yukon, Diana Holloway (Otto), Deer Lake, NL, Doris Behan, BC, Debbie McLeod (Aubrey), Pasadena, NL, Gerry Young (Clair), Dartmouth, NS, Terry Young, Deer Lake, NL, Pat Young. NL, Dean Young (Debbie), Deer Lake, NL, Tom Young, England. Many nieces and nephews. Her companion John (Bud) Tucker. She was predeceased by her husband of 49 years Gary Murphy, Her parents Leo and Sadie Young, brother Maxwell Young, friend and sister in law Marilyn Young. She spent many years teaching new Canadians how to speak English and loved every minute. The family would like to thank all who cared for her at Corner Brook Long Term Care, protective care, 3rd floor north and palliative care. Also Debbie Dolomount for her compassion at a difficult time. There will be a family service at a later date.
