Charles Bernard Wells
December 19, 1938 – August 24, 2020
It is with great sadness that the family of Charles Wells announce his passing on Monday August 24,2020 at Western Memorial New Palliative Care Facility at the age of 81 Years.
Predeceased by his loving Wife Ellen Wells (March 28, 2018)
Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories his Children Sherri (Bill) Pennell, Sharon (Rod ) Wheeler, Boyd Wells (Denise Payne) and Darren Wells (Deanna Pelley).
Grandchildren Raeann (Patrick) Betts, Charles (Cathy) Pennell, Crystal (David) Dawe, Ryan Osbourne, Daniel (Joanne) Gillis, Justin (Tara) Hunt, Jessica Wells, MacAulay Wells and Allyssa Pelley-Wells.
Great Grandchildren Ashton Pennell, Ethan Driscoll, Chase & Camden Pennell, Riley & Lukas Dawe, Calen & Jayce Hunt, Skylan & Avery Wells, McKenna Wells Childs and Kensley Wells Pike.
Leaving to mourn Brother Lewis and Sisters Leona & Loretta. As well as many nieces, nephews, relatives and special friends.
Predeceased by his Parents Edmund & Annie Wells, Brothers Art (Fox) Wells and Anthony (Tone) Wells.
A very special thank you to Sons Boyd (Denise) and Darren (Deanna) who stayed overnights with him for the last years of his life and by doing so allowed him to remain in his own home as Charles requested many years ago.
To his Granddaughter Allyssa who spent countless hours with him and ran errands to pick up anything he may have wanted or needed.
To his very special homecare workers Marilyn Snooks, Jennifer Flynn O’Connell and Travis Young who brightened his days and helped in making it possible for him to remain in his own home for the last years of his life.
And a special Thank you to his Daughter Sherri, who spent many hours in the hospital during his last months. And was with him during his passing, so he was not alone.
In observance of the Covid 19 Regulations there will be a joint visitation for both Charles and Ellen Wells on Thursday August 27, 2020 at Saint Mary the Virgin Anglican Church on Curling Street at 1:00 pm and a Memorial Service to follow at 2:00pm with Rev. Deacon Cynthia Haines Turner officiating.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Children’s Wish Foundation, Corner Brook Chapter of the SPCA, The Palliative Care unit at Western Memorial or any Charity of one’s choice.
