It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Doris (Barnes) King, of Corner Brook on September 7, 2020 at the Western Corner Brook Long Term Care, Palliative Care Unit.
Doris was born on February 19, 1931, to Almond and Jean (Broderick) Barnes.
Doris is survived by her loving husband George, 3 daughters, Margaret (Roy) Hillier of Fredericton, New Brunswick, Michelle (Stephen) Otis of Sussex, New Brunswick, Dee King, Massey Drive, Newfoundland, 5 sons, Michael of Devon, Alberta, Ray of Corner Brook, George Jr. of Curling, Corner Brook, Clayton of Toronto, Ontario, David (Michelle) of Lincoln, New Brunswick.
Doris is survived by 7 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.
Doris is survived by her sisters Bernice (Gerry) Rowsell of Curling, and Julia (Ralph) Morey of Corner Brook.
Doris also is survived by her sister-in-law Alice Ray of Orangeville, Ontario, brothers-in-law Ken (Madonna) King, Pasadena, Newfoundland, John (Florence) King, Curling, Newfoundland, Ed (Mary) of Corner Brook, Newfoundland.
Along with her parents Doris was predeceased by her sisters Regina and Geraldine (Gordon) Butt and children Doreen, Anthony (Tony) and Randell (Randy) King.
A private viewing and funeral service will be held on Thursday, September 10, starting at 1:00 p.m., at Fillatre’s Funeral Home Chapel, St. Mark Avenue.
Interment to follow at Mount Patricia Cemetery.
