September 30, 1944 - September 6, 2020

 

It is with great sadness that the family of the late James (Jim) Greene announce his passing on Sunday, September 6th, 2020 at Western Long Term Care, Palliative Unit in his 76th year.

Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories are his wife, Marjorie (nee Swyers); son Scott (Annette), Winnipeg, MB, three grandchildren: McKayla, Matthew (Jen) and Mattie; sisters: Cecilia McGibbon, Ontario, Victoria Greene and Patsy (Gary) Butt, both of Mt. Moriah; brothers: John (Lisa), Garland, Halfway Point and Brian (Karen), Cormack; sister-in-law: Debbie Morris, Robinson's and brother-in-law Gerald (Alice) Swyers, St. Georges, as well as very large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Predeceased by his parents Chesley and Madeline Greene.

A special Thank you to the nurses on 3B, WMRH, and the Palliative Care Unit, as well as Dr. Dunn and Dr. Ahmed, whose compassion for Jim and our family will never be forgotten. Sincere gratitude is extended to Community Care Nurse, Jody Penney, whose care of Jim in the last several months has been unwavering, and is so appreciated by our family. Cremation has taken place at Humber Valley Crematorium.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Satruday, July 23, 2022 at 10:30 am at Our Lady Star of the Sea Church in Benoits Cove with Father Jim Robertson officiating. The interment will follow at the Church Cemetery.

As expressions of sympathy, in lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
