Cyril Simms
October 30, 1946 - September 25, 2020
Cyril Simms, age 73, passed peacefully away after a brief illness on September 25, 2020 with his family by his side at Western Memorial Regional Hospital.
Leaving to mourn his loving wife for 50 years Dora (nee MacDonald); daughter Leona Strickland (Roger); grandsons: Jack and Philip Strickland; sisters: Audrey (Gord) Meade and Gladys (Aubrey) Meade. As well as a large extended family of in laws, nieces and nephews, other relatives and many friends.
Predeceased by his parents Abraham and Edith (nee MacDonald) Simms and his brother Gerald Simms.
Thanks to the wonderful staff at Calder Health Care Center in Burgeo for his care over the years. Special thanks to the amazing team of nurses, physicians and surgeons at Western Memorial Regional Hospital in ER and ICU.
Cyril loved his family and friends and he had a love for fishing, hunting and trapping that leaves us all with wonderful memories to cherish.
Cremation has taken place. Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, September 29, 2020 at St. John the Evangelist Church in Burgeo with Rev Elsie Rose officiating.
