It is with great sadness that the family of the late Charles Clayton Brake announce his passing at his home in Meadows on Monday, October 5, 2020 at the age of 87 years. He leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories his children: Wanda (Rick) Penney, Floyd (Rona) Brake, Michelle (Jason) Matthews and Janice (Karl) Brake; grandchildren: Laurie Penney (Roger MacInnis), Andrew Penney (Janna Brake), Scott (Kayla) Brake, Nathan Brake (Adrianna), Brittany Matthews (Shane Tuinder), Ryan Matthews (Shantal) Evan Brake and Travis Brake; great-grandchildren: Daisy, Maggie, Morgan, Hunter, Kinsley, Mathieson and Baby Boy Brake on the way; sisters and brothers: Suzanne (Kenneth) Neibauer, Dawn (Arthur) Hickey, Bessie White, Lulabelle (Joseph) Noseworthy, Utley (Maggie) Brake, Vernon (Myrtle) Brake, Baxter (Loretta) Brake and Calvin (Joan) Brake; sisters and brothers-in-law: Bernice Whelan, Mirley Banks, Dulcie (Frank) Sheppard, Rosalind Hillier, Olga Payne and Sharon (Spencer) Osmond; special nieces: Thelma Cook and Veda (Randy) Brake; lifelong friends Harley Anderson (Susie-deceased); special caregiver Theresa Parsons whom he dearly loved; as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his wife Dinah Brake (nee Payne), parents Clayton and Annie Brake, granddaughter Amanda Brake, sisters and brothers Marie (Luke), Melba, Whyona (Austin), parents-in-law John and Frances Payne, sisters and brothers-in-law Delilah, Stella, Naomi, Ulric (Edna), John, David, Judy, Jennie (Noble), Charlie, Foster, Clyde and Bill. A private family viewing will be held at Fillatre’s Funeral Home, 4 St. Mark’s Avenue. A private family funeral will be held on Thursday, October 8, 2020 at Fillatre’s Funeral Chapel, St. Mark’s Avenue with Rev. Malcolm Palmer officiating. Interment to follow at Mount Patricia Cemetery. Due to the Covid-19 Government Restrictions we sincerely apologize that not all of his family and friends will be able to take part in saying farewell. As expressions of sympathy in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Western Memorial Regional Hospital Foundation.
