Dorothy P. Elliott (nee Taylor) Deer Lake, NL (Formerly of Sop’s Arm, NL) February 25, 1937 – October 15, 2020 It is with great sadness that the family of the late Dorothy Elliott, announce her passing on Thursday, October 15, 2020 at the Deer Lake Manor, at the age of 83 years. She leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories her children: Marilyn (Randy) Jerrett, Rex (Theresa) Elliott and Rozlyn (Kenneth) Ricketts; grandchildren: Stephen, Jeremy, Leona, Mark, Megan, Danielle, Michael and her 12 great-grandchildren; sister Ida Howell; as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her husband Hubert Elliott, son Ivan Elliott, parents Cyril and Clara Taylor, brothers John, Lloyd and Edgar, sisters Beatrice and Gertrude. A private family visitation will be held at Fillatre’s Funeral Home, 10 Clinic Drive, Deer Lake. The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, October 20 at 2:00 p.m. at Emmanuel Pentecostal Church, Bennett Avenue, Deer Lake with Pastor Jeffrey White officiating. Those wishing to attend the funeral service are required to preregister at Emmanuel Pentecostal Church – Deer Lake Facebook’s page. (Doors will open at 1:30 p.m.) Interment will follow at the Pentecostal Cemetery, Sop’s Arm. Dorothy was an avid patron of the charity organization Sew on Fire, making hundreds of hand sewn and knit items to send overseas. In leiu of flowers, expressions of sympathy can be made via donation to Sew on Fire, 240 Applevale Court, Burlington, Ontario L7L 2B9, www.sewonfire.com/donate.
