It is with great sadness that the family of the late Earl R. A. Murphy announce his passing on Monday, October 19th, 2020 at Western Memorial Hospital at the age of 88 years. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories, daughter Vivian Loder (Terry), son Todd (Julia); grandchildren: Stacey Lynn Christopher (Fred), Mallory Loder (Dave), Bruce Murphy, Brandon Murphy (Tara), Chad Murphy and Mary Loder; great grandchildren: Wesley Christopher, Chloe & Emily Murphy, Jaxson Murphy, Annie and Eli Ashley; sisters Ruby Harrison and Lottie (Randy) Janes; sisters-in-law Nora Cheeseman, Annie Christianson and brother-in-law Jack Hann (Deloris); special buddies at Bayshore Estates, Malcolm Campbell and Robert Taylor; as well as a very large circle of nieces, nephews and friends.
He is predeceased by his wife Laura (nee Hann), 2013, daughter Trudy 2007, sons John (2017) and Rick Loder (2004), parents Roby and Gladys Murphy, mother and father-in-law, John and Ann Hann; brothers, John and Jim Murphy; sisters, Violet Wheeler, Gladys Sheppard and Nina Ruth.
Earl was a lifelong member of the Ironworkers Local 764, from where he retired after 40 plus years of service.
The family would like to extend a special Thank you to the Doctors and Staff on 3B, Western Memorial Hospital, and to the Staff at Bayshore Estates, where he resided for the past three years.
Due to COVID-19 Government Restrictions, there will be a private family service from St. Paul’s Anglican Church, Summerside, officiated by Reverend Kay Osmond, Rev. Deacon’s Terry Loder and Karen Loder, followed by the interment at the family plot.
As expressions of sympathy, in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heart & Stroke foundation or St. Paul’s Anglican Church Memorial fund.
