Obituary of Judy Blake
Please share a memory of Judy to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
It is with profound sadness that the family of Judy Arlene Blake announce that, while surrounded by her loving family, she passed away on October 19, 2020 at her home in North West River.
At the age of 71, Judy was once again facing another battle with Hodgkin’s Lymphoma. Although she was determined to fight and returned home to complete her treatment, her body unfortunately succumbed to her disease.
Born January 15, 1949, Judy was the eldest child of Edward and Kathleen. She lived a full life, loved walks with her dog, enjoyed berry picking, and delighted in get-togethers with her family, which always included delicious food and great music. She is predeceased by her parents, as well as her brothers: Tommy, Edward, and Henry.
Left to mourn with loving memories are her partner Dougald Gillis; Children, Heidi Gillespie (Michael), and Gordon Rendell (Sharon); Grandchildren, Sydney, Conlan, and Ethan; Siblings, Douglas (Lena), Patsy (Doug), and Martha (Bill); Sisters in law, Marilyn and Gertie; and her loving Puppy Taffy. Judy also leaves behind a large circle of nieces, nephews and friends whom she loved dearly.
We are eternally grateful for the care and compassion of Dr. Joanne McGee, Erin Ash and Liz Michelin.
There will be no visitation. Funeral service will be on Saturday, October 24th, 2020 at the North West River United Church. Due to Covid-19 public health restrictions, the funeral will be by invitation only.
As expressions of sympathy, memorial donations can be made to the North West River United Church or The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society of Canada.
