Gertrude Mary HYNES (NEE: LAVERS) Benoit’s Cove, NL June 22, 1918 - April 17, 2009 It is with great sadness that the family of the late Gertrude “Grammy” Hynes announce her passing at the Interfaith Home for Seniors in Corner Brook on Friday, April 17th, 2009 at the age of 90 years. She will be lovingly remembered by her family, daughters: Verna Hynes (friend Junior) and Patricia (Arthur) Hall; grandchildren: Glenn (Paula) Savard, Colleen (Warren) Kiteley, Trina Hynes (Martin), Tracy (Dennis) Rose, Kelly (Sheldon) Adey and Edward Metcalfe; great-grandchildren: Eugene, Stephen, Dylan, Carter, Jannell, Allison, James and Kyra, along with a large circle of other relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her husband Patrick (1994) and daughter Lorraine (2002). Friends may visit Fillatre’s Funeral Home, 218 Curling Street on Saturday and Sunday between the hours of 2-4:00 & 7-9:00 p.m. The Funeral Mass will take place at Our Lady Star of the Sea Roman Catholic Church in Benoit’s Cove on Monday, April 20th at 10:30 a.m. Father Bernard Buckle officiating. Interment will follow at the Roman Catholic Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, flowers are graciously accepted or donations may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
