Obituary of Gilbert James Blake

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Gilbert James Blake (Jim) announce his passing on November 25, 2020 at Labrador Grenfell Health (Long Term Care Home) surrounded by his loving family, at the age of 81 years.He will be sadly missed by his wife Agnes, children Tracy, Garnet (Heather), and Beverly; Grandchildren: Allison Saunders, Patrick Saunders (Amber), Emily Blake, and Bradley White; Brother Garfield Tooktoshina, and brother in laws Bob Shiwak and Barry Flynn; Sisters: Greta Michelin (John), Lily Chambers, Alvina Blake, Isabel Daley (Donald), and sister in law Beatrice Blake; As well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his parents Herbert (Dick) and Flora (Tooktoshina) Blake, brothers Howard and Allan (Butty), sisters Carol Flynn and Delphine Shiwak and baby son James Ian Blake. Special thanks to the staff of the Long Term Care Home at Labrador Grenfell Health in Goose Bay. We will forever be grateful for their care and kindness. The family appreciates the acts of comfort and support they have received from their loved ones during this difficult time. Cremation has taken place at Jim's request. A memorial service will be held in the coming days.
