It is with great sadness that the family of the late Ronald Bennett announce his passing on Monday, November 30th, 2020 at Western Long Term Care, Palliative Unit at the age of 75 years. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories is his wife of 53 years, Sylvia (nee Rolfe); daughter Rhonda (Rodney), Ottawa, ON; son Mark (Heather), Lincoln, NB; three precious grandchildren, Catherine, Andrew and Christina; sister Marilyn (Paul) Gaudette, brother Clarence Bennett, sisters-in-law Ivy Bennett and Marie Gardner, brother-in-law Eric Young; as well as sister-in-law Margaret (George) Butt, special sister-in-law and friend, Daisy Hurley and brothers-in-law John Rolfe and David (Gail) Rolfe; also many loving and caring nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. Predeceased by his parents John and Helen Bennett; Brothers Tom (Marie), Shannon (Betty) and Ernest; sisters Frances (Leonard) Kelly and Marie Young; and father and mother-in-law Andrew and Emily Rolfe. Ron worked for over 40 years with Browning Harvey where he made lifelong friends. From the age of 15, he was a loyal fan of the Corner Brook Royals, making every effort to support his home team. He volunteered at the Outreach Lunch Program at Humber United Church and was a staple volunteer at many events in his own church, Frist United, where his presence will be missed immensely. A private family visitation will be held on Sunday, December 6th from Fillatre’s Funeral Home, St. Marks Avenue, followed by a Private funeral service on Monday, December 7th from the First United Church, Park Street. Reverend John van Vliet officiating. The inurnment will follow at Townsite cemetery.
