Mrs Follett was an institution on Reid Street. She brought us great comfort over these last few years, as we mourned our own losses. She welcomed us into her home and helped us through some hard times. We are grateful for the connection we had and how much she enjoyed our postcards over the past 5 years.

I just now saw that Mary had passed away. My deepest condolences to you all. I thought so highly of your mom. We had some wonderful conversations over my few years at First United. Certainly wasn't expecting Jeff's call Tue morning. As I told Jeff when we got together Tue, it was Mon night that I was thinking of the Christmas Eve I walked from Reid St to Humber Park on a very clear, quiet night via Brookfield Ave. All 3 churches where playing music which filled the "Townsite Valley". Just one of many connections to Reid St, Mom/Nan/Mary and the Follett Family. It was also Mon night that I realized , due to Covid, this would be the first time in, I don't know how long, I would not be able to see Mary at some point over Christmas.
Thinking of all of you fondly.

I was only thinking of Mary last week and am so sorry to hear of her passing. I have a wonderful picture taken with her in the park last year during Come Home Year where she shared stories of working with my oldest sister at Eatons many years ago. What a wonderful lady. Beautiful tribute of a beautiful lady.
A Mothers love is a blessing .... how truly blessed all the Follet children were to have had your wonderful Mom for those 94 years.
Our family ( the Jayne's ) from very young ages grew up in the same neibourhood , attended the same church and schools over the years. Our families always had some kind of connections and remain so even to this day over at Mount Patricia Cematary .
I know how heartbroken you are all feeling during this sad time but remember all those wonderful years ... What memories.

To Jeff, Emeline, Matthew, Jason and the extended Follett family,
It is with great sadness that we learned today of Mary’s passing on Monday past. As you know,Mary had a special place in my heart as we spent many a Sunday morning chatting in the balcony( before the service) at First United. She was such a warm-hearted person and we never met without stopping for a chat and a hug. Pauline would jokingly refer to Mary as “ your girlfriend “ but our friendship was born out of my respect for her. She was one of the most intelligent persons I knew and had a wealth of political experience and knowledge to share. We last spoke on her birthday but she will long be remembered by Pauline and me, and missed by her many friends. Please accept our sincerest condolences.

I've had a long and memorable association with the Follett family. Bob and I and Gary Jennings were the best of buds since our teens. I worked in the mill with Henry and Derek. Jeff, Emeline and the boys, Jason and Matt, have been wonderful friends with our family throughout the years. The girls, Ruth and Janet, are such sweethearts and always brought a smile. And the glue that held us all together was Mary. Such a caring, jovial, warmhearted person. We always called her mom and that's just the way she treated us - as one of her own. You will be missed sweet lady. I know there is a party up above with your boys today.

I am so saddened to learn of your Mom’s passing. I first met her in 1990 when I became her tenant, neighbour and eventually friend and will always remember her kindness and generosity to my family.
