Sylvia Applin
(nee Tucker)
October 3, 1925 – December 28, 2020
Passed peacefully at Corner Brook Long Term Care Home, Sylvia Applin at the age of 95 years. Dearly remembered by her brother Harold Tucker; sister-in-law Eliza Tucker; granddaughter-in-law Julie Couture; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her husband Thomas Applin, daughter and son-in-law Mary and Howard Dyke and her grandson Howie Dyke. A heartfelt thank you to Dr. Whitten for caring for Aunt Sylvia and a special thank you to all staff of 4 North for taking care of her for the past 2 years. Also, thank you to Archbishop Stewart Payne for his visits during the last several years and being her friend. Thanks to all of you. Following her wishes, cremation has taken place. A private family funeral service will be held on Saturday, January 2, 2021 at Fillatre’s Funeral Chapel, St. Mark’s Avenue with The Very Rev. Catherine Short and Archbishop Stewart Payne officiating. Interment to follow at Mount Patricia Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the CNIB.
