(An original poem crafted for Hannah Baggs by her child hoods friend, Alice Fischer’s son, Joseph Fischer)
“Little Francois”
Oh, how quickly time did pass this way. leaving us behind for another day.
Through the shimmering color of summers flowers and the daunting challenges of the Winters Snows showers.
We each do beckon a life, not free of sorrow or woes! not free from grief nor trials, from lasting pain nor pretending smiles,
But a complete life, full of it all, from the lowly wooden dory to the dashing ships who stand so tall.
Worries too are part of our foil. from waiting up on late stormy nights. to the far-off distant dim and lonely ships mast lights.
Gathering within all the joy one can find, from between the clouds there shines, the bright and brazen lasting sunshine.
Oh, how she remembered and told it so fair how they dried the fish on flakes in times of despair.
With all the labor and toil, they held in their hands there was on their lips was a song and they sang it all so grand.
In Those times they were young and danced like the wind. Boys with the Girls, both with big grins.
If those rocks above the water or down by the creek could talk oh, the words they would spin.
Sending lovers about with a passionate did shout, while the youth plead for time to move bout’.
Families were made in the blink of an eye, building up their lives never thinking they could die.
Now time has passed without letting us down, speeding ever so fast beyond the speed of sound.
Memories are cherished by those who are old. Secrets are buried and shall never be told.
Now it all comes down to one simple thing, take with you on that final day, the peace and love God gifted to you when you took time to pray.
Dear Hannah, I am so happy for you that you had a wonderful life. I know you and my mother have a lot to catch up on. Thank you for your beautiful life.
