Dolph & all the family, Our love and prayers are with you all during this time of loss. Susie was indeed a beautiful person who loved God and demonstrated that love with everyone she met. I have so many special memories of our times together at our ladies bible study nights. If the bible study was at her house, her table was filled with baked goods when we arrived even though we would tell her that we would bring the lunch. But that was who she was....
Susie is now free from her pain and suffering and enjoying the splendor and glory of heaven. In John 14, Jesus tells us that he has gone to prepare a place in his Father's house for those who trust in God.

Dolph, Roxanne, Terry, Nancy and family,
There is a saying, “It’s not what the world holds for you but what you bring to it that counts.” It is impossible to count the number of lives that Susie touched with her kind, loving heart. Her name means lily, the flower of hope, and like the words of the song “Carry Your Candle,” she truly did “Seek out the hopeless, confused and torn.” She “held out her candle” and brought light wherever she went.
While we are saddened to hear of her passing, we know that she is resting securely in the loving arms of God. We “thank God upon every remembrance of her (Phil 1:3),” and know that when Christ “gathers the gems of His Kingdom,” there will be many who will be found there because of the loving influence of this beautiful lady, whom we called our dear friend.

We were very sorry to hear of Susie's passing and want to assure you of our love and prayers. How quickly time has slipped away and memory takes us back to our young and youthful days. I well remember when Susie arrived in Deer Lake as a Teacher in our day school. She fitted in so well and people loved her. She went on to make a significant contribution to the Salvation Army in Deer Lake and beyond. As you mourn her passing, may you experience the comfort which only God can provide.
Years ago we would march the streets with the Deer Lake Band and play, "No more we tremble at the grave; For he who died our souls to save, Will raise our bodies too. What though this earthly house shall fail, The Saviour's power will yet prevail, And build it up anew." BECAUSE - He Lives. I know that my Redeemer lives.

Aunt Susie was a big part of my younger years(especially my summer in Deer Lake and Silver Birches) and we had so many fun times along the way and she was also there through the sad times... I will always remember how much you care and the loves you shown to me and you will not be forgotten.

To the Janes family. When I heard of my Kindergarten teachers passing, my mind immediately was filled of so many memories of one of the best teachers a child could have. Her smile was contagious and she had a way of making each student feel important. She was kind, caring , patient but most of all she treated all of her students the same! I loved going to school and now I have a grandson going to school and often I’d say,” I wish he had someone like Mrs. Janes teaching him.” I even remember saying to my grandson about the sheets she prepared for us learning to print and how I wish I could get my hands on a copy of those!
She was a special women in so many ways and I’m sure she was a loving wife, mother , grandmother , sister and friend in so many ways.

Good-bye dear Susie Janes...kindergarten teacher to do many Deer Lake children; reassurer to so many of us parents. Susie loved teaching and often mentioned how geatly she missed school and children after her retirement. She then directed some of her time and energy into raising funds and awareness for Parkinson's disease. She greeted everyone with a smile and conversation, wherever she was, Thank you, Susie...you have left your mark.

Mrs. Janes was my kindergarten teacher at Church Street school. One day she had to step out and put me in charge in case someone was fighting. Sure enough it happened lol, I went running to tell her, we had big rubber covered steel mats at all entrances. Of course I tripped up, split my head open!! Luckily we just had a fire drill, and the fire dept were there. Needless to say that I rode with Miss Susie in the fire truck to the clinic to get my stitches.Later I was show & tell at class to show what mis behaving can do. I will never forget her. All my love to Dolph and his family, I got to know him in the last recent. ❤️ Rest In Peace my Angel ❤️

This lady was a great Christian and walked the talk. She always provided words of encouragement to everyone she met. Her kind and loving example in the classroom was evident by the reflections of her students. Her gift of hospitality was shown to us many times when a room always became available when we were travelling.
