Annie Clarina Russell February 19, 1916 – February 13, 2021 Corner Brook, NL Annie was born on Flat Island, Bonavista Bay on February 19, 1916 to Solomon and Feadora Butt. She lived in Catalina for approximately 50 years, where she met and married John Russell. She moved to Corner Brook over 50 years ago. Annie passed peacefully away on Saturday, February 13th, 2021 at the Lohnes Complex, six days short of her 105th birthday. She leaves to mourn two sons: Edward (Gail) Russell of Pickering, ON and Donald Russell of Oshawa, ON; two daughters: Myrtle (Gerald) Dawe, Corner Brook and Phyllis (William) Vincent, Mt. Pearl; ten grandchildren: Darlene (Jim) Koornneef , Rodney Russell, Sandra (Lloyd Hoffer) Dawe, Beverly (Tom Knight) Dawe, Shirley (William Kidd) Dawe, Brenda (Dirk Olds) Dawe, Kimberly (Martin Bagley) Vincent, Donna (Shawn Bennett) Vincent, Donny Russell and Larry Ash; nine great grandchildren, as well as a large circle of nieces and nephews, especially Jane Penney. She was predeceased by her husband John in 1992, her son Augustus in 2015, her brother Augustus Butt, sisters Elizabeth Locke and Alfreda Marsh. Annie lived at the Lohnes Complex for the last 12 years. She was always treated with much love and respect right up until the time of her death. A special thank you to Eileen, Judy, Loretta and all of the staff, you were all her extended family. Due to Covid 19 Government Restrictions, a private family service will be held on Tuesday, February 16th with interment at Mt. Patricia cemetery, Father Lynn Braye officiating. As expressions of sympathy, in lieu of flowers donations may be made of the All Saints Anglican Church.
