It is with great sadness that the family of the late Elva Hayden Hulan of St. David’s announce her passing at Sir Thomas Roddick Hospital in Stephenville on Sunday, May 24th at the age of 76 years. Elva dedicated her life to her family and community. Raising one son and two daughters with love, determination and unwavering faith. She will be sadly missed by each of them. Ina (Nicholas) Quilty, Highland’s, Douglas (Nancy) Hulan, St. David’s, and Doreen (Perry) Hulan, Trenton, ON. Grandchildren: Rhonda Hulan (Jamie MacLeod), Susan Hulan (Glenn Ryan), Lacey Quilty; great-grandchild Steven Hulan; brothers: Raymond (Marley) French, Halifax, NS, Ronald (Maureen) French, St. David’s; sisters: Pearl McLean, Barachois Brook, Ada (John) Hickey, Goose Bay, Palma Shears (Kayla), Stephenville as well as a large number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her husband Douglas Hulan; parents Edward and Norah French; foster parents Alfred and Matilda Pieroway; infant grandson Stephen Hulan; brothers: baby Gordon, Charles; sister Mary McLean; and companion and friend Ellis Hulan. The family will be receiving friends on Tuesday from 7-9 p.m. and Wednesday from 10 a.m.-12 p.m. at St. Michael and All Angels Anglican Church in St. David’s from where the funeral service will take place on Wednesday, May 27, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Canon David Pearce officiating. Interment will follow in the Anglican Cemetery, St. David’s. As expressions of sympathy flowers are graciously accepted or donations may be made to a charity of ones choice. The family guest book may be signed by visiting our website www.fillatre.ca.
