I had the pleasure of being in Fred's presence only twice, very recently. It was an honour to say the least and I am grateful to Lisa for reaching out to me. He was witty and kind and so appreciative of all I was able to do to help. I was shocked to hear of the sad news of his passing today. He was very proud of his Lisa's hard work and granddaughter Monica on her new adventures in the big city. The world was a better place with Fred in it. I only heard of Fred's passing today and I am saddened by this loss. I grew up next to the Tipple's and I remember when Fred was starting out in the trucking industry that we had a very large number of good laughs in their yard . For some reason Fred always found that putting a hot, wet tea bag on a seat just before someone sat down was hilarious. (So did I if I wasn't the one it was done to).My heartfelt condolences to Sadie and the entire family.

There are no words to express how saddened and shocked we are to hear of Fred's passing. It was only two weeks ago on my way back to St. John's, I visited Sadie and Fred in Pasadena. As usual, their kindness and hospitality was exemplary. Not only a special supper, but a welcomed drive to Deer Lake airport. We shared our good memories (especially of Florida) and Fred wanted an update on Mike's illness. Fred was certainly known for his wit, always playing a joke on someone--especially Mike. We shared many good times down South, and many great meals. In fact, Fred would come next door to see if Mike would join him for one of his lunches, BBQ's. Or sometimes it was just friendship which we all shared. Fred was caring, generous, dedicated to his family, and loved Sadie dearly. Many nights we would go for a drive to the beach and get ice cream. Many times when we came home, Fred would have the driveway cleaned and even the mobile washed on the outside. Fred and Mike were both pranksters so one never knew what to expect. We will miss you Fred, but we will cherish the memories. To Sadie, our hearts go out to you during this sad time. To his family, he dearly loved you all so remember him as the great father and grandfather who would do anything for all of you. I met Fred in 1980 and it was the start of an amazing 40+ year friendship. Fred was a one of a kind person who would do anything for anyone, a true buddy.

So sorry to hear of Fred’s passing. Fred was a wonderful man. Nothing but a gentleman. Such a pleasure to have known him.
