Richard Patrick Stewart

December 17, 1991 – March 6, 2022

It is with heartfelt sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Richard Stewart, on Sunday, March 6, 2022 at the age of 30. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife Nikki, children Chase, Owen and Tori, parents Roseanne and Terry Stewart, brothers: Carson (Brittany), Travis and Ryan; grandmother Lillian Vaters; father-in-law Jorge Velez (Joanne);  nieces and nephews: Teara, T.J., Skylar, Thea, Emma and Bria; aunts and uncles: Rita (Eric), Sylvia (Doug), Patsy, William (Wendy), Philomena, Pat (Michelle), Kirk (Jenny), Christopher (Crystal), Catherine (Jim), Ray, Wanda (Paul), Laura (John), Lisa (Chris), Cyril, Rob (Lindsey) and a very large circle of cousins, he dearly loved, especially Krista Kendell, who he always called “sis” and Lorna Kendell who he shared many adventures with, as well, Richard will be missed by his many friends. Predeceased by grandparents Joe Vaters, John and Rhoda Stewart; mother-in-law Mary Anne Basha, grandparents-in-law Thomas and Mary Basha, cousin Stephen Snooks. Visitation will take place at Fillatre’s Funeral Home 218 Curling Street Wednesday from 2-4 & 7-9 pm to a maximum of 30 people at a time, VaxPass and ID required. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday, March 10^th, 2022 from Our Lady Star of the Sea Roman Catholic Church in Benoits Cove with Father Jim Robertson officiating at 10:30 am to maximum of 150 people, proof of vaccination not required. Interment will follow at the church cemetery.  For those unable to attend the service, it will be lived streamed on Fillatre Funeral Homes Ltd. facebook page. As expressions of sympathy memorial donations may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
