We are shocked and so very sorry to hear about Mamie's passing, and we send our heartfelt condolences. We were delighted that we were able to meet our new-found relatives and spend a short visit with you all when we were in Burgeo in 2015. It seems like a long time ago, and yet we can remember quite clearly Mamie's beaming smile, her laughter, and her friendly soul. My deepest sympathy to Wayne and mamies family it is heartbreaking to hear this news Manie was a very nice lady who I loved to see at her grocery store always the beautiful smile ,always busy for sure,always time for a little chat I will certainly miss you Mamie at Huntsview Market rest easy ,Wayne I know your heart is broken but the sun will shine again for you and when you think of your wife you will smile take care of yourself.❤️

Mamie was a beautiful lady with a beautiful heart, she cared for everyone and did her best to see that everyone around her was happy, well fed, loved and laughing along with her. Her laugh was contagious. She was a wonderful person, the perfect wife for Wayne and friend to all who met her. I am so extremely sad and sorry she had to leave us so suddenly. My heart breaks for Wayne, her dad and the extended family. I am keeping you all in prayer. I was so looking forward to seeing her this summer. RIP dear sister in law, we didn't talk much but you were loved and I will miss you.

To suggest that the sad news of Mamie's passing was a shock would be an understatement. As she was for many in Ramea, Burgeo and elsewhere, she was a good friend. We spent several years during the 90's sharing office space at the REDC building in Ramea. It was at that time that I truly got to know her well and had the privilege to savor both her intellect and her sense of humor. Mamie loved to laugh. She also loved to talk about her friends & family - all of whom meant the world to her. It was only after I had left Ramea that I learned that the special person that she had often talked about during out impromptu yarns had returned home to rekindle a flickering flame. Wayne, your long friendship with her came full circle and your marriage made her life complete. Some things are simply meant to be. My sincerest condolences to you my friend...and to her dad, Jimmy, her sister Shirley(George) and her precious nieces that she talked about like they were her own children. Many hearts are empty today...hearts that were so full because of Mamie's presence in our lives. For everything there is a season...sadly. She will be missed. RIP
