Hilda Ruth Bowman

June 11, 1946 – June 14^th, 2022

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Hilda Ruth Bowman announce her passing on June 14^th, 2022, at Labrador Health Centre, at the age of 76. Left to mourn with fond and loving memories; her son Randy (Michelle) Bowman Pitt Meadows, BC; Tammy, Larry, Mitchell (Mackenzie) and Keaton (Julianna) Barry; Stepbrothers: George and Paul Baggs and family; stepmother Marg Baggs (Carbonear); ex-husband Stan Bowman (Labrador City); her lifelong friend Yvonne Canning, and a large circle of friends she considered family.

If there was just one word to describe Hilda it would be Giving. She was so outgoing that once she met you, even if it was for the first time, you could probably expect a gift for Christmas. She received so much joy in sharing with people, and never expected anything in return. When she did receive something, she would say “Oh you shouldn’t have, but I’m so glad you did.” She was an avid crafter who gifted and donated most of what she made, always saying she will eventually make something for herself.

Hilda enjoyed the simple things such as a coffee and a conversation with friends. Whether it was hosting her annual boxing day party, playing cards or TV bingo on Tuesday nights, she welcomed those times to connect with people.

Family and friends may visit Fillatre’s Funeral Home, 45 Aspen Drive on June 16^th, 2022, from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. as well as June 17^th, 2022, from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. There will be a small funeral service for family and close friends on June 18^th, 2022 at 10 a.m. at Fillatre’s Funeral Home, with interment to follow at Our Lady Queen of Peace Roman Catholic Cemetery
