Sincere condolences to those who loved an old friend from College of the North Atlantic (CBDVS). He was always so pleasant, jovial and obliging. I still remember some of his most amusing stories, especially the one where Marie had him try to get the dog to sleep in it’s new dog house…and he ended up there alone LOL. He used to say the gulls at the dump knew him by name and called out ‘Ern’ when they saw the college truck arriving. He sure brightened our days! My most lasting memory: l bummed my last cigarette from him in November 1983. You will add joy wherever you are, old friend; RIP

To the Pilgrim/Jennings families, we extend our sincerest condolences to the families of Ern. We remember him salmon fishing on the Robinsons River when we had a cabin there. It's hard to believe that I shall never again hear him laugh or tell a joke except in my memories. He was Gary's uncle but he was, and always will be, 'Uncle Ern'. He took us salmon fishing when we were only beginners. He fixed our vehicles. He let us use his cabin for our socials. To my good friend Gary, his brothers Darrel and Ted, his sister Sharon and 'our' mom Florizel, my deepest sympathy. He will live on in you all.

We met him years ago at party at Barb and Francis Brake home where he had many Sunday dinners cooked by Barb.
