Obituary of Glen Peter Jacobs
It is with profound sadness and broken hearts that we announce the unexpected passing of our amazing dad, Glen Peter Jacobs at the age of 65. He was the best father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend that you could ask for. Left with loving and funny memories, children Jennifer (Darren), Joshua (Tyla), Jaclyn (Steve), and mother of his children Jocelyn. Grandchildren Alex (Denver), Megan (Colby), Owen, Tenley, and Nora. Sisters Deli (Frank), Judi (Jim), Janet (Gerard), Susan (Joe); Brothers, Bob (predeceased by Mary), Jack (Pam), Paul (Janice) and extended family who loved him deeply. His daily presence will also be missed immensely by John, Jennifer and James. Predeceased by parents Jack and Rita Jacobs, and sister Helen (Ed).
Glen was the seventh of nine children. He was a master carpenter who many called upon. He will always be remembered for everything that he built or fixed. Family was his life. He loved his children and grandchildren beyond measure. They were his world and he would do anything for them at any time. He delivered coffee to his children faithfully everyday. He was very proud of his children and was always there to celebrate their accomplishments. He was known as “poppy with the packages” in his daily visits to the grandchildren as he would never come empty handed. Glen was always helping others and could be relied upon while never expecting anything in return. He loved sports as a participant and spectator, especially golf and hockey, and his love for music was second to none.
The impact that he left on his children and grandchildren will last forever.
“A golden heart stopped beating, hard working hands at rest, it broke our hearts to see you go, God only takes the best. They say memories are golden, well maybe that is true, but we never wanted memories, we only wanted you. Your life was love and labour, your love for your family true, you did your best for all of us, we will always remember you”.
