Shauna, Gordon, and George...and all multitudes of Lowes. It is with utmost admiration and heartfelt sympathy that we offer our condolences in Bill's passing. Bill, along with so many of the Lowe clan have become woven into the fabric of the community. In so many aspects of life in the twin towns this family and certainly Bill would have touched nearly everyone...either directly or indirectly. I suspect this desire of contribute to the greater community extended to the country inspiring him to put country before self and join the RCAF. Today, it is not unusual for the youth of the twin towns to choose military service...but that was not always the case. The strong military pride and tradition that now ixists is in no small part attributable to Bill, both as a trailblazer/example...and later as mentor, leader and indeed a force multiplier through his Air Cadet work. As a current serving member of the RCAF, I can without question state that Bill was one of three primary influences in shaping my decision to join the CAF, viewing it as a career option. The other two being my older brother (STRATHCONA) ...and my high school Newfoundland Studies/Geography teacher who ensured that Remembrance Day was for remembering and honoring.
Bill, for your service to country, for your countless contributions to the community, for your unwaivering support, mentorship, leadership, coaching, teaching and championing of the Air Cadet program I salute you.
To the Lowe family I offer prayers to help guide and support you during this time. But I would also say that even though he has passed....you will always see him.....laced throughout the fabric of this community.
