I was so sorry to hear about Uncle Dolph's passing. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your families during these days.
I believed Uncle Dolph to be a man of honour, character and action. He modeled that Words without Action were worthless, never being shy to step in and take a leadership role to ensure that a project got off the ground, and ultimately completed.
His impact and influence on all of those around him will be felt for generations to come.

Roxanne, Terry, Nancy & Families,
We were so sorry to hear of Dolph’s passing. We have such wonderful memories of Dolph & Susie as our friendship with them began when we transferred to Deer Lake in 1970. We have so many treasured memories of our times together that it would literally fill a book if we were to write them all down.
It is impossible to talk about Dolph without talking about Susie. As faithful Salvationists, Susie & Dolph modelled, “Heart to God and Hand to Man,” every day of their lives. It was not unusual to see Dolph and Susie taking food from their own pantry shelves to fill countless boxes for those in need, or delivering Susie’s famous jelly rolls to someone who was sick or shut in. Their door was always open with a warm cup of tea, a lot of laughter, listening ears and even a bed; ready and waiting for whoever needed it.
It is difficult to put into words Dolph and Susie’s legacy of love. In thinking about them, however, these words by singer Ray Boltz came to mind:
One by one they came
Far as the eyes could see
Each life somehow touched
By your generosity
Little things that you had done
Sacrifices made
Unnoticed on the earth
In Heaven now proclaimed
As Jesus took your hand
And you stood before the Lord
He said, “My child look around you
For great is your reward.”
Thank you for giving to the Lord
I am a life that was changed
Thank you for giving to the Lord
I am so glad you gave.

Sincere condolences to Mr. Janes’ family and all who loved him. I knew him years ago when he was the Business Manager for the Deer Lake Integrated School Board and l was principal-teacher at Great Harbour Deep. He was always so supportive of our needs and l found him so kind and affirming. I last saw him on his way to a support group meeting for his loving wife and he still knew who l was. It was nice to have known you, Sir. Rest easy.

My mother just shared the news of your dad’s passing Terry, I am so very sorry for your families loss. As we spoke awhile ago in Deer Lake I realized that we were both in a similar situation and it is never easy watching a father suffering from illness. So hold fast to your memories, to all the cherished moments of the past, to the blessings and laughter, the joys and the celebrations, the sorrows and the tears which they all add up to a treasure of fond yesterdays that you shared and spent together, and keep the ones you loved close to you in spirit and thought. The special moments and memories in your life will never change. They will always be in your heart, today and forevermore.
But although your heart is heavy today but remember God will be your stronghold, Guide and Provider today, tomorrow and always and He loves you. So cast all your cares on Him and Believe.
Uncle Dolph was a big part of my younger years (especially my summer in Deer Lake, Silver Birches and Garnish ) and we had so many fun times along the way and through the sad times too ... I will always remember how much you care and the loves you shown to me and you will never be forgotten plus you will always have a special place in my heart.

It was with deep sadness that I learned of Dolph's passing. We grew up together and I have many fond memories of school days and our participation in The Salvation Army Corps in Deer Lake. Dolph was a great leader and always set a wonderful example. He will be greatly missed.
May God bless the members of his family, and may you experience comfort and peace as you look forward to meeting him again on that bright and cloudless morning, when the dead in Christ shall rise.
